MEET CERISSA

Hi! I am Cerissa A. Brown. And I am running for mayor of Birmingham.

Now — I don’t look like a politician. I think that’s a good thing.

I was born in Alabama; my family is from Mulga and Edgewater. I lived in Pratt City and West End and went to Jackson Elementary. I grew up going shopping at Parisians and going to the fair in Five Points West, and I loved it. Birmingham then was filled with businesses and energy and pride in our beautiful neighborhoods.

The city is still like that for some — but not for everybody.

That’s why I’m running.
